CLASSIC TOLLYCRAFT ROYAL 38 TRI CABIN 1969 HAS
YEAR OUT OF WATER REBUILD & UPGRADING
Hull has combination of oak & mahogany frames , sheeted with marine
plywood , covered with fiber glass. Decks, topsides & command bridge all
glass. Interior is of mahogany. Displacement 15000 lbs, LOA 40, beam 13.
This boat would make a very comfortable live a board and has lots of
outside space for activities. It's powered by professionally rebuilt
Chrysler V8 twin engines, borg warner & walter V drive trannies.
The transmissions were taken apart, inspected & 2 were rebuilt. 2
helm stations, one inside and one on the command bridge.
The engines are located outside of the cabin areas, under the aft
cockpit, which makes for a quiet interior ride. Engines have new heat
exchangers, raw water pumps, marine alternators & marine carburetors.
All plumbing is new - gray and black water tanks each with it's own
macerator pump plus vacuum clean out.
Bow & aft cabin toilets are new plus all new sewage hoses, new 18
gallon hot water tank, fresh water pump & all new hot & cold water
lines. Both 130 gallon aluminum fuel tanks were removed, refurnished
and new fuel pickups installed. SS water tank received same treatment.
Galley has new frig , stove , propane lines propane shutoff solenoids,
duel propane cabinet ( on command bridge )and new propane sniffer. The
boat is powered with large house batteries, battery for each engine,
battery for windlass and all charged by 2 , 85 watt solar panels on a
regulator and running a 2000 watt inverter. Anchoring is via a new
maxwell horizontal windlass, 300 feet of 5/8 rope & 50 feet of 5/16
2 anchors (a large danforth & large rocna ) Right behind the chain
locker is the forward cabin with bunks on the left , closet & head to
the right. Next is the main salon with inside helm station, galley,
dinette and side access to decks and large windows all around.
Next is the aft cabin with closet, double bed, dresser and head with
shower. Next is up 2 steps and out on to the aft cockpit with the
engines under it. The aft cockpit has a door to the back swim
platform. Over the aft cockpit is a structure that provides the davits
to lift the dinghy and the solar panels are on top. Here also is the
rotating gantry for lifting things onto the aft upper deck , such as a
dinghy. Davit and gantry are electric. Above
the aft cabin is a full deck and up 1 step is the command bridge &
upper helm station. This boat has excellent visibility from both helm
stations. Cruising at 800 rpm gives you
7 - 8 mph and burns 1.5 gallons per hour for each engine. The boat
also cruises comfortably at 10 mph. New props + spares.
